David Wallechinsky is the author or co-author of 19 books, including The People's Almanac series, The 20th Century: History With the Boring Parts Left Out, and Tyrants: The World's 20 Worst Living Dictators. Wallechinsky is the vice-president of the International Society of Olympic Historians and the author of the leading reference books about the Olympics, The Compete Book of the Summer Olympics and The Complete Book of the Winter Olympics. He is also a contributing editor of Parade Magazine, for which he reports on government spending, dictators, and the state of the nation, among other topics.
