Col twisted over, lifted the fringed edge of his bedspread and looked under his bed. Two eyes looked back at him. The female Filthy! Her hair was a knotted tangle, black in some places and blonde in others. Huge burning eyes dominated her face.Quick as a whip, she slid out and knelt at the side of his bed. 'Don't let 'em take me,' she begged. With her appearance Col's safe, elite world on the Upper Decks of Worldshaker, an enormous juggernaut, is about to fall apart. Worldshaker is a mobile city as big as a mountain, a claustrophobic setting of rivets, iron and steam. Col has been chosen to be groomed to be the next Supreme Commander. His life is one of stiff collars and stiffer manners. The Filthy girl should be handed over, if he doesn't do so he breaks all the rules. This is a terrific fantasy adventure full of wonderful characters, sly humour and plot twists.
