The Popularity Papers: Bk. 2: Long-distance Dispatch

Author(s): Amy Ignatow

Children's Fiction

After spending a year studying popularity, Julie and Lydia are finally ready to put their hard-earned lessons to use in junior high. But before they can conquer the world together, tragedy strikes: Lydia's mom gets a six-month job in London! Before Lydia can say "fancy a cup of tea?", she's thrust into a new school with ugly uniforms, snobby schoolmates, and a reputation as the "Violent American." Meanwhile Julie's stuck navigating the cliques of American junior high on her own, where she finds herself adopted by a group of troublemaking 8th graders known as the "Bichons" (after the adorable dogs, though they're anything but adorable themselves). The two best friends will have to learn to keep in touch and stand on their own, assisted as always by their trusty notebook. Amy's signature sense of humour and her knack for capturing the trials and tribulations of friendships of all stripes will satisfy fans of the first book and introduce more readers to the charms of Lydia and Julie. As in the first book, this will be full-colour, illustrated in Amy's authentic scrapbook style.
