DescriptionRiders to the Sea is a one-act play, written by the Irish playwright J. M. Synge.Two daughters of an old fisher woman Maurya, whose father-in-law, husband, and almost all her sons died in the sea, receive from a local priest the package with clothes taken off another drowned man. The sisters hesitate to open it, afraid that they might be the clothes of their brother Michael, one of not many surviving sons of their mother, who is away in the sea at the moment.
