Description

This is not the book for ...This is not the book for someone looking for a step by step approach on how to do portrait painting or for information on mixing skin tones or sketching the head or other aspects of how to do portrait painting. This book is exclusively about how to capture Movement in portrait painting. This is the sixth book in 'Magunta Dayakar Art Class Series'.I have written a book ' How to start a painting and how to plan it? ' That is book one in my art class series, which explains how to plan and start a portrait. And also I have written on mixing skin tones in book two of my art class series titled ' How To Finish A Painting? Painting a portrait means creating Life. If not, it has no purpose. But when you are trying to capture movement in a portrait, there is always a possibility of losing features of the subject to a certain extent. Then the client will reject your work. But at the same time, if you don't get movement in portrait, it will become static. People also will not respond to it. It's like tightrope walking. To explain how to overcome this problem, I took as an example, a portrait which I painted a few years ago. Because of expression on the subject's face, it is a complicated subject for any portrait artist. That is the reason for me to choose this one to explain about the adventurous journey to achieve Movement in portrait painting. Finally I would like to say that every portrait is a challenge, however skilled you maybe. To face this challenge one should learn as many tricks as possible, just like a magician. We, artists do the same by creating on canvas.
