The land was their school, and their playground. Since European people have come to Australia, Aboriginal children have taken on some new games and toys, but they have continued to practice their culture. Whether they live on a remote outstation or in a busy city, Indigenous kids are still learning from country, and from their community.

Nadia Wheatley writes for both adults and young people. Her award-winning books cover the genres of fiction, history, biography and picture books, and reflect her commitment to social justice. Nadia's first book, Five Times Dizzy, was often described as the first multicultural children's book in this country. Ken Searle is a painter and illustrator who is represented in major galleries in Australia and internationally. He designed and facilitated the illustratons done by over 40 Anangu staff and students for Papunya School Book of Country and History
